Impeccable designs. Incredible Talent. Admirable Philanthropy.

Johanna Ortiz is not only an incredibly talented designer who has been worn on the most exclusive red carpets, she is also an activist. Born and raised in Cali, Colombia, Ortiz has become a fashion ambassador for her homeland. Her designs have been featured at the White House and the United Nations. Ortiz consistently uses elements of Colombian culture, politics, and art in her designs. She also gives back to her community by utilizing indigenous communities, especially women who are head of households, whenever possible. By employing women who are heads of households, Ortiz helps them to work from home, earn money for their families, and spend more time with her children.

To highlight this amazing woman and emerging talent, we have selected three key, Johanna Ortiz pieces that are certain to get you #ready for your summer style!

The first piece is currently holding a place of honor in the windows of Saks Fifth Avenue in NYC. The Javari strapless knotted jacquard jumpsuit is the perfect Summer jumpsuit. The fabric is light and airy and the cut is very flattering. Pair it with a great denim jacket and a metallic wedge for a fun vacation look!

The next piece is a Summer staple. The Orinoco printed silk crepe de chine wide-leg pants boast a bold, beautiful, tropical motif that was inspired by Ortiz’s native Colombia. The name itself, Orinoco, is the name of one of the longest rivers in South America. The flowy pant is comprised of 100% silk and feels incredible on the skin. Dress it down with a simple white tee and a black sandal for running around town, or dress it up with a strappy heel and a fun, off-the-shoulder ruffle top for a night on the town!

The final piece is a Johanna Ortiz classic. The Santa Rosa one-shoulder striped cotton-blend poplin top is a style the Ortiz produces again and again and has become a must-have for her fans. The cut accentuates the waist for a flattering fit and the Colombian influence is impossible to miss. Pair it with skinny jeans and white sneakers for a casual look or dress it up with an army green culotte and white, pointed-toe pumps!
