Plaid: The "It" Pattern
Plaid is the ‘it’ pattern season after season, with good reason as it is versatile and trendy. This fall you can create chic attire by incorporating interesting plaid pieces. Rock your plaid with scarves, clutches, shoes, pants and more! Because plaid comes in so many color varieties & fabrics, it’s easy to find something just right for you. Here are a few ways to wear your plaid this season:
One Piece is Perfect: (Plaid Pants) Plaid pants are just amazing, don’t be predictable with only a plaid shirt! Style your outfit around them, mixing and matching for the look you are rocking that day! Throw a classic blazer on a silk top or turtleneck - giving some structure to the chic patterned pants. Patterned pants are one of my favorite ways to wear plaid! For me, I like to keep things neutral all around. (Pictured: The Diana Ponte Skinny by Kut From the Kloth)
Workday Ready: (Plaid Work Shirts) Plaid shirts can be very dressy for the office. Radiate sophistication in a fitted plaid shirt tucked into a sleek pencil skirt or well-tailored trouser pant. Play with hints of metallics - preferably gold shoes and a narrow gold belt for brighter plaid, but you can choose silver or other shiny colors to tie your look together.
Chic and Flirty: (Plaid Dresses) Plaid dresses are very stylish and can be bought in a variety of prints, styles and designs. The dress makes the outfit flirty while the plaid print adds a hint of tough girl-chic to the look. Pair with a sleek leather jacket, neutral shoes and metallic accessories and you're ready to conquer the night.
The 90’s are back: (Plaid Flannel) Layer a flannel shirt over a loud graphic t-shirt and wear colorful skinny-cut cords, necessary for the vibrant splash of color to make a statement. Sneakers and a bowler hat is the accessories I would choose to give a chilled-out daring look to your attire.
Relaxed and Refined: (Plaid Ponchos & Pops of Plaid) The best items that work well for winter plaid are poncho sweaters and pretty cashmeres that are swank, skinny jeans or a classic pencil skirt balance it all out! Pick up on the trend of relaxed and woodsy with a hint of ethnic, wear a tribal knit blanket and knit skirt. Rough it up with hunter boots.
